It’s been two years since our last major release but we haven’t been sitting still. Today we proudly announce our next major milestone, Sipcat 1.4. Although the majority of the changes are under the hood, we’ve included a number of features that we’re sure will be transforming the way you use your phone system.
A new year, a new update. Our 1.3.3. upgrade includes a number of bug fixes for your Sipcat platform. You can find the complete list of bug fixes on our support pages. As usual we recommend you upgrade your system at your earliest convenience. If you do not have an update contract, or it has expired, feel free to contact us to obtain one.
It looks like Skype finally means business. Just a couple of days after we reported about the Skype-Asterisk connection, Skype is opening up to the entire SIP PBX world. The company today announced its beta program “Skype for SIP” which will allow SIP PBX’s to connect to the more than 405 million Skype users worldwide.
Many of our customers have considered using Skype as the main communication tool within their company. When asked for my opinion on that, I’ve always likened the use of Skype for business telephony with the use of Hotmail for business e-mail. Usually this gets the point across fairly quickly.
First of all, happy birthday to us. This blog is now one year old. We hope to be able to continue to bring you the same exciting business VoIP news in the coming years. This post is a bit of a technical one, but it’s nevertheless quite important.
