Sipcat and Dell bring VoIP appliance

The past few months we’ve worked with Dell to deliver our customers a new Voice over IP solution. Our offering up until now included a software version of Sipcat and our hosted version: Sipcat Online. Today we can proudly announce the 3rd line in our product range, Sipcat Appliance.
German independent IP phone maker Snom is pulling the green card. A German school has tested the power usage of various IP phone brands and found out that Snom devices consequently use the least power in the respective phone class. Good news for Snom as companies are increasingly taking ecological aspects into consideration when selecting new technology solutions.
Today, Polycom introduced the VVX1500 video phone or “media phone” as they prefer to call it. The phone provides a 7″ wide-screen touch display for voice, video and applications. Polycom remains true to the standards they have been using for the SoundPoint and SoundStation series, by providing SIP support and the same XML API as with their other phones as well as Polycom’s HD Voice technology.
A new year traditionally comes with New Year’s Resolutions and looking at our last post, one of our resolutions must include blogging more often. It is true that when business is going fast, blogging gets lower on the priority list. But a 6 month hiatus is not acceptable, so here we are again with all the best wishes for 2009 and an introduction of Cisco’s newborn, the Cisco SPA-525G.
The Polycom SoundStation IP 4000 has been the company’s only IP-based conference phone for a long time. While Polycom’s traditional conference phone lineup includes many different models sporting wireless, bluetooth and skype support; the IP based lineup consisted of one device. That’s about to change as Polycom recently introduced the SoundStation IP 6000 and IP 7000 models.
