Lotus teams up with Cisco & Nortel

Sipcat VoIP Blog - LotusThe partnership announcements haven’t exactly come to a stop. After recent announcements by Dell and Lenovo, Lotus is lining up to announce its partnership with both Cisco Systems and Nortel Networks. The deals focus on the integration of the Lotus Sametime platform into both Cisco’s and Nortel’s unified communications platforms.

Both vendors will integrate Sametime into their platforms to offer features such as VoIP, click-to-call and presence to Sametime users. Additionally Lotus has signed integration deals with Ericsson and NEC Corporation.

Will this help the revival of the Lotus Sametime platform, or was it never dead? Regardless, it remains interesting to see this partnerships popping up left and right and it remains to be seen what this will do for corporate VoIP adoption in general.
