If you’re in the Boston area you might want to consider visiting Digium Asterisk World on 30 & 31 October. The first edition of this event is colocated with Fall VON and that should provide you with enough incentive to pay them a visit. With recent news of Digium’s Switchvox acquisition and the deal with 3Com, there should be some interesting news to gather at this expo.

Of course there will be a keynote by Digium’s founder and CTO Mark Spencer, but there’s a wide range of other presentations scheduled. Topics will include:

• Differentiating your Asterisk solution with speech
• The Polycom and Digium partnership
• Echo cancellation on Asterisk systems
• Demonstrations of Switchvox and Sangoma

There will be a lot of companies showcasing at the exhibit, and even if that doesn’t cut it, there’s still Fall VON around the corner with over 250 vendors and 300 speakers. If I were on that side of the pond I wouldn’t be hesitating.
