IP PBX sales still growing

Yesterday we took a look at consumer VoIP adoption, today we’ll have a look at the IP PBX sales in the first quarter of 2007. Sales figures across the globe (with the exception of the Asia Pacific region) are impressive. With the Middle East and Africa marking a 29% increase in sales compared to Q1 2006, Latin America 11%, Eastern Europe 7% and increases of 5% and more in Western Europe (with the exception of Luxembourg, Netherlands and Italy). Even the USA marked an, albeit less spectacular, increase of 4% in sales.

Global brand leaders are Panasonic, Avaya and Nortel with Cisco being notably absent from the top three IP PBX players. Panasonic’s leading position marks the importance of the sub-100 extension market which accounts for just under 60 percent globally and nearly 70 percent in emerging markets such as Latin America, Middle East and Africa.

What is the source for your market share claims? What is your definition on IP PBX in this context?

The source for this post is a report published by MZA Consultants. I’m not sure what you mean with your 2nd question though.
