VoIP security video

I was going to keep this juicy nugget until friday, but since I forgot posting yesterday. You’re getting some extra VoIP goodness today. Generally I tend to avoid a lot of FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) spreading articles about VoIP security, because they generally do just that. Yes, moving your voice communication to a data network requires planning and it may even increase the security risk. However, a lot of those problems can easily be avoided by some basic security measures.

You’re using the internet to send e-mails right? I’m assuming you’re not scared of your e-mails are you? Anyway, the video below gives a pretty decent example of what could happen - if let’s say you put your entire telephony infrastructure unprotected on the internet. But don’t just run screaming scared to your vendor after seeing this. Chances are the required security measures, such as a decent firewall, have already been made a long time before you saw this video.
