Digium introduces PCI Express cards

Only two days ago, I was touting Sangoma for being the only one to release their telephony interface cards in the increasingly popular PCI Express format. It seems that at the same time, Digium was preparing their press release to introduce their new line of PCI Express cards to the world.

Initially Digium will be releasing their two and four port E1/T1/J1 cards in the PCIe format. The TE220 will retail for $695 (or $1150 with on-board echo cancellation), the TE420 will retail for $1195 (or $1910 with on-board echo cancellation). Interesting point to note, the new cards are about 20% cheaper than their regular PCI counterparts.

Digium will be releasing other digital and analog cards for PCI Express in Q2 and Q3 2007. Of course we will be updating our list of supported cards as that happens.
