Sangoma introduces BRI card
Sangoma is one of the bigger players when it comes to WAN and voice interface cards. They are pretty popular with open source telephony projects such as Asterisk. One of the issues in the (mainly) European market is that BRI ISDN (as opposed to PRI ISDN) is very popular and few manufacturers provide compatible cards for it. Therefore BRI users, traditionally went for European manufacturers such as Junghanns and Beronet.
Yesterday, Sangoma introduced its first BRI card for the global market. Following Digium’s introduction of their BRI card last year. Interesting point to note, unlike European manufacturers, Sangoma provides optional hardware echo cancellation using the Octasic chipset. As usual, Sangoma is the only manufacturer to provide their cards both in PCI and PCI Express which is particularly interesting when using 1U servers. Sangoma also allows you to bundle the cards, for up to 24 ports or 48 voice channels.
Since Sipcat 1.2 we’ve provided support for a number of additional cards, such as Sangoma. We’ve just updated our list of compatible PCI cards.
