Reduce global warming, switch to VoIP

That’s right, according to a recently published report, contact centers across the UK are generating 1.3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year through commuting. When you extrapolate these figures globally, you get 9.3 million tonnes of CO2 that would require 6.2 million acres of forest to “offset” these emissions.

The article suggest that a combination of working from home and VoIP technology could help to reduce these numbers significantly. This trend, commonly referred to as “homesourcing” is already proving to be popular in the USA. Companies such as Office Depot and JetBlue Airways are already employing this technique successfully. Not only will it help you to reduce global warming and increase efficiency, it also creates happier employees.
